Frank F. Bredell

Frank F. Bredell age 87 of Lincoln Park, passed on February 24, 2018. He is survived by his companion of more than 20 years, Jean Carnahan and by his sons Paul (Gail) and John (Lynn) and daughter Marie (John) Mack. He also leaves behind grandchildren Kyle and Bryce (Olivia) Bredell; Shannon, Luke and Gabrielle Mack. Mr. Bredell was born in Lockport, N.Y. and graduated from Alfred University, Alfred, N.Y. and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. He worked as a reporter and editor of the Buffalo Courier-Express and the Detroit News for several years before starting a career in public relations, which he followed until retiring at the age of 68.In retirement he wrote a book, "Lockport Boy," about his childhood, started a newsletter for the Lincoln Park Library and helped form a library friends organization. He and his companion also traveled widely, often taking three overseas trips a year and he wrote free-lance travel articles. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Frank Bredell scholarship fund at Alred University, Alfred, N.Y. 14802.
