Mr. William A. Leismer

May 7, 1933 - September 3, 2018

It is with much sorrow that we share news of the death of William “Bill” Leismer. Bill was born in Petoskey, Michigan in 1933 and died of natural causes on Labor Day Monday, 3 September 2018. After graduating from Lincoln Park High School, Bill served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had a long career as an Electrician and was a proud IBEW member for over 50 years, working in the Detroit area. He was a member of Lincoln Park’s American Legion and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed many years of camping, snowmobiling, boating, hunting and fishing in his beautiful Michigan. One of his favorite things was to work in his barn in the Upper Peninsula. Bill’s friends and family always enjoyed having a beer with Bill and listening to his stories. Bill Leismer remained steadfastly independent throughout his life and later years despite health challenges and being a widower for more than 15 years. He is survived by his daughter Patty and her husband Steve Michiels, some close friends, cousins, and his large friendly Newfoundland dog “Charlie”. Bill was predeceased by his wife Patty Poturich Leismer and his older brother Larry Leismer. Bill Leismer was 85 years old.
